Despite the emotional stress, most nurses who work daily with wounded combat veterans say they feel privileged to be able to help. Legs without feet. Eyes that can't see. Brains that will never think the same again. Nurses and other health care professionals caring for military personnel wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq deal with horrific trauma almost every day.
