NOVA CONGRATULATES CONGRESS

NOVA congratulates Congress for recognizing the severe underfunding of the Department of Veterans Affairs and passing an emergency supplemental bill. By not funding the VA adequately, what message are we sending to our current and future veterans? A promise was made, and we are not keeping that promise due to inadequate funding.

NOVA members have consistently been communicating to VA leadership and Congress the need for more funds to adequately care for our Nation's veterans during the 2005 and 2006 fiscal years. Registered nurses care for veterans 24 hours a day/seven days a week, and they are intimately aware of the quality of care veterans are receiving.

NOVA will continue to closely monitor VA's health care budget and work closely with members of Congress on this critical issue.
