Dianne Nelson
Award for
Nursing Clinical Excellence
I am writing this message from Tucson, Arizona where we know what "hot" means! It's over 100 degrees, but it's a "dry" heat, so we don't have the added burden of humidity. However, anyone would agree that 105 degrees is hot!

What is also "hot" this summer is the fact that you can nominate one of your VA nursing peers for the NOVA Award for Nursing Clinical Excellence. You work with outstanding passionate, gifted, sensitive, innovative nurses every day! They're the ones who always seem to be having a good day. Their patients love them, the physician and nursing staff respect them, and you are happy they are working with you. You've probably always thought this RN should receive some kind of recognition and here's your chance to make it happen!

Take a few minutes to tell us about this special RN. The recipient of the award does not have to be a member of NOVA - however, my guess is that when you, as a NOVA member, make the effort to recognize someone special, they will join NOVA! This makes it a win-win situation!

So, grab a tall, ice-cold glass of your favorite beverage and send us your nomination. You can send it to: nova@vanurse.org.

Hot, but happy in Tucson,

Dianne Nelson
