Joan Clifford, MSM, RN, FACHE has held numerous roles within the VA since 1979, including Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager, Nursing Coordinator and Associate Chief Nurse. She is currently the Deputy Nurse Executive for the VA Boston Healthcare System, and is a leader in numerous interdisciplinary groups at the local, VISN and national level, participating in the development of policies/procedures incorporating local and national standards, and Labor-Management activities.
Ms. Clifford received her BSN from Salem State College in 1979; and her MSM from Emmanuel College in 2001. She has been a NOVA Member since the 1980's, serving in multiple roles within local chapter 226 including President. She has served on the national NOVA board as a director, secretary, and vice president. She is also a member of American Nurses Association (ANA), Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses (MARN), American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives.
She is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
