DID YOU KNOW?
|
|
Nearly 1 in 5 of us will become disabled for a year or more before reaching age 65. Half of all people that file bankruptcy do so because of health problems.
The NOVA long term disability plan is affordable. It's convenient. It works when you can't!
NOVA CARES! A serious illness or injury can harm more than your health - it can have an impact on your ability to work and meet your family's living expenses. Statistics show that nearly one in five of us will become disabled for a year or more before reaching age 65. Imagine what it would be like if you were unable to work and your paychecks stopped... your sick leave was exhausted... vacation days used up. Your bills do not stop. You need food, mortgage money, car payments, etc. It is easy to see how devastating this period of disability could be.
NOVA is always looking for ways to help its members. The Association provides educational opportunities for members and fosters research and academic excellence in VA nursing services. NOVA strives to do everything it can to help YOU.
Recognizing the need for paycheck protection, NOVA sponsors a group Long Term Disability Program that fills a valuable need. If you're disabled, this benefit furnishes you with monthly income that won't come from the Federal Disability Retirement Benefit.
This affordable protection is available to those working at least 20 hours per week or a NOVA member, only from Federal First. You can learn more from your HR contact, or go directly to www.federalfirst.com for a free brochure and more contact information.
Additional NOVA membership benefits will be coming out in the future. NOVA cares and is here to help you!

Chapter Mentoring
"A mentor is a teacher, coach, sponsor, counselor, advisor -- to a group of one."
|
 |
|
Our Members are the backbone of our organization! We need sustained growth in membership in order to meet our goals. This growth takes place at the local, chapter level. We are in the midst of a Member-Get-A-Member Campaign, and we want these new members to remain in NOVA for many years. It is an interesting paradox that, while the first year offers the best opportunity to lay the foundation for long-term loyalty to a chapter, it is also the year that members are most likely to leave the organization. Why? Frequently the reasons are that the new member feels unwelcome or does not receive personal attention.
Therefore, NOVA has put in place a Chapter Mentoring Program, the purpose of which is to welcome and engage new members when they join NOVA, and throughout their first year of membership. Click here for the details...
