NOVA Board of Directors Application

Overview

The NOVA Board of Directors is the governing body of the organization responsible for establishing the organization’s mission, strategic plan and policies, and directing activities and approving all actions pertaining to the business of NOVA and its chapters.

Board members are tasked with serving as committee chairs and are responsible for staying informed about committee matters, preparing themselves well for meetings and reviewing materials such as board books, committee reports, financials and other important information.

Directors serve a two-year term and shall begin their term at the beginning of NOVA’s fiscal year (January 1st). Service on the NOVA Board of Directors requires participation in four in-person board meetings per year, along with periodic conference calls.

Board members must have the ability to defray costs associated with board meeting travel prior to receiving reimbursement from NOVA for approved travel expenses.
