August Recess – Time to Take Action

Congressional recess has started. Members of Congress are back in their respective districts
for the August work period. Over the next few weeks, lawmakers will engage with constituents,
and they need to hear from you!

NOVA encourages members to contact their elected officials and advocate for VA and quality
healthcare for Veterans.

It’s time to take action - set appointments or send messages urging support for VA and
opposition to any legislation that could harm VA healthcare and services.

Your outreach and advocacy are especially timely, as Congress will be considering key
legislative and appropriations priorities upon their return from recess in September.

NOVA is especially concerned about House and Senate VA Committee passed H.R. 740/S. 275,
the “Veterans’ Assuring Critical Care Expansions to Support Servicemembers (ACCESS) Act of
2025. It includes provisions that if enacted, could seriously undermine future veterans' access to
VHA health care and services.
